This is my second and most meaningful tattoo. I got it done at Rising Dragon Tattoos in Manhattan, NY. It’s a compass with the initials of my parents and my sisters. The middle is a heart that connects all of them to me. I don’t know how I came up with that idea, but I wanna believe that if there is an afterlife, I can use that compass to guide me to them if we’re separated. It’s a really personal and poetic tattoo, and I love it.

I got my tattoo from my good friend Kevin at Heck Yeah Tattoo’s in Charlotte, NC. It was my first tattoo and he surprised me with this huge 10 x 6 piece of art. I was scared shitless but I definitely enjoyed the experience. My tattoo doesn’t really have a meaning. Rather it is simply an idea that has changed me as person. Even now it is difficult to explain but in an extreme state of meditation I found my purpose in the trees.
Eve and The Serpent - Done by Bo Dillard @ Peacocks Tattoo
Original Artwork by Adam Isaac Jackson
I remember the story of Adam of Eve very clearly. I grew up with my grandparents, who were extremely religious. Despite that I am not religious now, the story still interested me, and I thought the example Eve set was perfect for why I got this tattoo.People react in so many predictable ways, sometimes in ways that aren’t necessary, in ways that aren’t exactly ideal - whatever their reasoning may be. People say, do, and think things that may not reach my approval. But I don’t get angry or distressed over it, because it is completely human tendency for people to act the way they do. Even if I did something that I felt was for a good cause. No good deed goes unpunished.
I think Eve set the perfect example. In the story, she had only been created moments ago. Her personality had no yet developed yet, so she was especially naive to anything, believing whatever she was told by whoever. It was too easy to deceive her. This is the way people are - not just like Eve, but with anything. Whether it’s easy to get them mad, easy to make them cry, easy to make them excited, anything. We’re all easily set off in some way, whether if it’s good or bad. This tattoo is a beautiful reminder of that, so that I can keep it in mind and continue doing what I do in life.

I don’t really have a story behind this, besides I love cheetah print and roses. :) The wonderful person who did it is Kris Haley at House of Ink, in Jacksonville Illinois. I couldn’t be happier with it!
This is my mermaid made in Rio de Janeiro, in Muai thay tattoo studio.
Since I was a kid, all my stuff was always full of sea things; I have always loved pirates, beaches, ships and, of course, mermaids. Somehow I always felt homesick from somewhere I didn’t know, and everytime I met the seaside, my heart was full of power again; like I was part of it.
I went through depression and eating disorders, feeling hopeless and alone, but last year, I joined an african religion, wich is very spiritual, called “candomblé” (common here in Brazil). In this religion, we have a big respect about nature, and we have lots of “gods” representing it. We believe people born influenced by certain of this gods/elements, calling them their fathers or mothers, and I came to discover that my mothers are mermaids- from the sea, and from the waterfalls (yemanja, oxum).
This tattoo represents my origins, my love for my religion, and remembers me that doesn’t matter how homesick, sad, or desperate I am, because I’ll always have somewhere to come back and feel near god (yes, we believe in god), and my own nature.
This is my second tattoo. I got it on New Years Eve. It says “Faith Is…” I got this matching tattoo with my mom and two aunts. It signifies having faith in whatever we want to believe and we can define faith for ourselves.

the writing is of my closest relatives, as well as the word serenity. Everything else are things that intrigue me, and make me happy.
